Dear John Paul,
I'm happy to present you here with five monumental Rodin sculptures meant to be displayed outdoors. They are currently in different stages of production. Several are due for completion within the present year, and others during the first half of 2024. Aside from the Walking man on a column that I developed for you as a full presentation a few days ago, the remaining four works are featured here with images only. Please let me know, therefore, if one catches your eye and I'll be happy to provide you with more details. The history of each of these important works is absolutely fascinating, but I don't want to burden you with more data than you need at this point. Although I'm still awaiting the final prices, I can give you an indication of what they are likely to be.
The images below are clear on an iPhone and pure joy on a large computer screen.
Enjoy the ride, John Paul!

I. PIERRE DE WISSANT, NU MONUMENTAL SANS TÊTE NI MAINS
The first work is the 76 inches tall Pierre de Wissant, nu monumental sans tête ni mains (Pierre de Wissant, monumental nude without head or hands). It is already cast and available immediately. The asking price for the Pierre de Wissant will be around $1,600,000.

II. LA DÉFENSE
The next work is a large double composition: a magnificent winged female figure and a heroic male, reminiscent of Michelangelo at his best. It is called La Défense (The Call to Arms). It is 92 inches tall and I believe it weighs about 1,500 pounds. The price will be circa $2,500,000. It is currently being cast and it is due to be completed in late spring, most likely deliverable in June.

III. L’HOMME QUI MARCHE SUR COLONNE
The third work is the Homme qui marche sur colonne (Walking man on column) that I presented to you last week. This sculpture soars at 140 inches and will likely be priced at around $1,150,000. It is due to be completed in December.

IV. VICTOR HUGO, NU
The fourth work is the recently discovered Victor Hugo, nu (Victor Hugo, nude). This is an exceptional discovery because there remain very few models of this significance left by Rodin in plaster upon his passing in 1917, that until now had never been cast in bronze. In fact, the patron for whom it was produced last year actually acquired three casts of this model: he gifted one to the city of Besancon (Hugo's birthplace), one to the musée Rodin, and kept one for his collection. I don't have the exact size yet, but it should be around 80 inches tall. The price will be around $1,750,000.

V. MONUMENT À VICTOR HUGO
And finally, the last work I can offer you is the Monument à Victor Hugo (Monument to Victor Hugo), a major work that Rodin spent several years working on. To the master's great chagrin, it was rejected by its commissioners and only cast for the first time in 1956. It is comprised of three figures: The inner voice, The tragic muse, and of course the hero they inspire: Victor Hugo. A cast of this gigantic sculpture was just purchased by the Louvre Abu-Dhabi (which already had the Walking man in their collection). The price for this behemoth will be around $3,500,000. It will be ready in mid-2024.
